One Child + One Bucket = FUN!

Well, after a long day of playing with Miranda and a long nap, Chase decided he wanted to play in the water again! Gosh, don't you just love summer? Anyway, he started his play time by watering the flowers. Then, he decided that he would paint the sidewalk, porch and front door. Pretty soon, he was bored with all of that and decided that he just needed to get inside the bucket. I do believe that there is a picture of Phil floating around in a similiar predicament! :)

Our Playdate with Miranda! :)

Today Chase and I took a road trip to No Co to visit Miranda and Megan. Chase and Miranda get along so well (just like their mommys)! They both absolutely love water, so I decided to bring Chase's water table. Needless to say (from the pictures below), the water table went to the wayside and the pool became the hot attraction!
Similiar to the Family Picnic, Chase and Miranda got into yet another water fight. Thank goodness the two of them are easygoing, because water was poured over the head, in the face and up the nose!
This snapshot shows Chase after he jumped in the pool from the outside (Megan and I were surprised he didn't hurt himself) and Miranda carefully entering the pool and then jumping (the more sensible way to do it).
Miranda: "Come on Chase, jump in!"
Chase: "Okay, one, two, free!"

This is a picture of Chase shortly after he realized that there was a spider in the pool. Megan and I even commented that Miranda and Chase's voices were at a level that only dogs could hear.

We Did It!

Well, we finally accomplished the feat I thought would never be accomplished . Chase-Man is potty-trained! We have been working on this endeavour for five days now. He has only had a total of five accidents and really seems to have gotten the hang of it! He is telling me when he needs to use the potty and has stayed dry overnight for several nights. Last week, I was trying to think of a motivator for Chase to get potty-trained before preschool began. For whatever reason, I had the forethought to tell him that his preschool teacher had called and was checking to see how his potty-training was going. I told him that she wanted me to call her and let her know how he was doing. It worked! He said that he wanted to make his teacher, mommy, daddy and himself proud, and he has! I am so proud of him. In fact, we were walking in the mall today and he said, "Mommy, I have to go poop!" I quickly ran him to the restroom and after we finished, he looked up at me with those beautiful blue eyes and said, "Mommy, are you so proud of me?" Needless to say, I had to fight back tears. My baby is growing up!

Our Trip to the Zoo with Alyse and Miranda

Miranda, Chase, and Alyse pretending to be river otters. This picture came after Chase and Miranda decided to run through the fountains and were soaking wet! Alyse opted not to get her clothing wet. Thus, Megan's point that an extra change of clothes is necessary with our two! :)

Chase loves to ride the carousel. This is his version of a "non-cheesy" smile.

Me, Amy, and Megan at our picnic lunch. We had to use this picture since Megan cut my head out of the first one. :)

Miranda and Chase playing after the picnic lunch. We tried to get all three of the kids together, but were unsuccessful.

I actually enjoy going to visit the goats at the Children's Zoo. They are polite (well most of them, one tried to eat Megan's shorts) and allow the children to brush them.

Introducing Aiden and Blake (aka Blink per Chase)!

Aiden and Blake, sons of our good friends Jason and Hillary were born nine weeks early on May 24, 2008. The boys had to spend a little over one month in the Special Care Nursery, but are thriving. The boys are home and doing very well!

I just love this picture of Aiden, his bright eyes crack me up!

Chase enjoys spending time with his new "cousins." He always wants to hold the boys and loves to bring them things from home to play with.

This is a picture of Blake with his Grandpa. He is so easy-going and loves to nap!

Phil loves to spend time with the boys. In fact, our friend Jeni was holding one of the boys and Phil replied, "Ding, your time is up!" Thank goodness their are two so that Phil and I don't have to argue about who gets to hold the baby.

The Annual Kenow Family Picnic

Nora, Chase and Luke chowing down on chips! Believe it or not, we had to have blankets this year, as the weather was a bit chilly. It is the first time in my thirty years of attendance that blankets were necessary.

Uncle Frank and Uncle Lee brought the firetrucks for us to admire! Chase was absolutely amazed. He clutched his own firetruck toy and loved sitting in the driver's seat. One of Uncle Lee's co-workers even let Chase sound the siren.

The three amigos (Chase, Alyse, and Miranda) watching the rain and enjoying a bite to eat! Katie joked that this was really Adam, Jill and Megan in the "old" days! :)

Uncle Lee let Chase try on some of the equipment. I even tried some on too (pictures are not being released)!

Chase and Miranda did not let the cool weather ruin their day. They enjoyed a full-blown water fight!

Character Meetings at Disney World

Chase really loves Goofy (maybe because they have similiar traits), so he absolutely loved the chance to get to meet him!

Chase really wanted to meet Stitch, but he settled for Lelo instead!

While we were at Animal Kingdom, Chase had the opportunity to meet Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger. He loved Piglet because he was the smallest of the bunch.

This is a picture of Chase with Leo from the Little Einsteins. This picture was taken at our lunch with the Playhouse Disney characters. Chase also got to meet June (Little Einsteins), JoJo and Goliath (JoJo's Circus).

Chase really wanted to meet Handy Manny, but every time we tried to meet him, he was going in for a "potty" break (as we told Chase). So we were very excited to see that Handy Manny was available. However, we looked down and noticed that Chase was sleeping in his stroller. I went ahead and took a picture anyway to prove to Chase that we were able to see him!

Walt Disney World 2008

On our first day, Chase had the opportunity to have breakfast with the characters. He loved seeing Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale. He especially loved the Mickey Mouse waffles.

Chase absolutely loved riding the buses to the different theme parks. He loved looking for the "Olliewood Udios" bus, more commonly referred to as "Hollywood Studios!"

Chase was in awe when watching the Electric Light Parade. He met a new friend and was enjoyed playing with her before the parade began. When the parade finally began, she kept talking to him and he told her, "Please be quiet, I am trying to watch!"

This is a picture of the Dumbo float. I posted this picture, because the Dumbo ride was one of Chase's favorite rides at The Magic Kingdom.

On our last day, we were finally able to meet Mickey Mouse! We waited in line for about 45 minutes, but it was well worth it! :)
