Today Chase and I had a fun-filled day at the Zoo with his preschool class. He and I arrived and headed straight for the Children's Zoo since his class was not meeting until later in the morning. After brushing the goats, we headed to see the meerkats, fish, tree frogs, guinea pigs and much more in the indoor portion of the Children's Zoo. He absolutely loved the veterinary office that was set up and told me once again about his plans to become a veteranarian. Although it was difficult to pull him away from this section, we managed to make it to the gigantic spider web, slides and climbable (is that even a word?) hippo.
Unfortunately, we could not visit all the sections of the Children's Zoo as it was time to head to class. The class that the Zoo offered was amazing! The docents discussed the different coverings that animals have to protect them. Of course, Chase was raising his hand to answer every single question (whether he knew the answer or not)! The most humorous part of the class is when the docent asked, "What type of animal is a lizard?" and Chase replied, "A reptile!" Seriously, how does this boy know this stuff?!?
Needless to say, we had a fantastic day and were able to ride the carousel and visit the penguins too! I hope that you were able to get outside and enjoy the weather as well!
I will leave you with some pictures of my boy and some funny happenings from the last few days!
Story #1: Chase and I were looking at a Toys R Us advertisement and it showed a croquet set. Of course Chase felt that he needed it, so I asked (knowing full well that he didn't know what it was) "Do you know what that is?" Thinking that he may call it a golf set, I prepared myself for explanations about the clubs and why it is played with a larger ball. Suddenlty, Chase replies "It's called croquet, Mom!" WHAT?!? How in the world did he know that? I asked, "How did you know that?" and he said, "I saw it on Maggie and the Ferocious Beast." Wow, I didn't know cartoons discussed these things!
Story #2: Chase, Phil and I were having a discussion about plans for the day and Chase says, "Speaking of which...let's just go!" Honestly, where does he come up with this stuff?
